On a roll at milestone show

Amateur theatre group The Easter Egg Club are preparing to celebrate their 70th anniversar­y.

The group are looking for additional cast members to help celebrate this significan­t milestone in the clubs history next year.

Each year in late April the club performs a musical revue in Motherwell Theatre featuring popular music covering a wide variety of styles and eras.

The club also has a busy social calendar as well as a concert party group that entertains on a regular basis throughout Lanarkshir­e and beyond.

The next show will run from 25-29 April 2017 and rehearsals, which begin in late September, will take place on a Thursday 7.15pm-9.30pm until Christmas with a Sunday afternoon 2pm-5pm added after the Christmas break.

No previous experience is necessary just have a reasonable singing voice, be able to move to music and have a desire to work hard whilst having fun along the way.

As well as new members the club would be delighted to welcome back former members who would be interested in taking part in all or part of the show.

At their recent show“Viva Las Vegas”held in Motherwell Theatre the Eater Egg Club held a bucket collection after each performanc­e to raise much needed funds for Musical Memories Dementia Choir based at St John’s Church in Hamilton.

As a result of this collection, the club was able to present a cheque for £1000 to the choir at a recent fundraisin­g concert which was organised by club member Julie Little.
