Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church Morning worship at the church on Sunday at 11am will continue to include support for the deaf or hard of hearing with a British Sign Language (BSL) signer and electronic note taker ensuring all words spoken are displayed on screen. A dedicated live stream channel for the deaf is also available for those unable to come to the church. Sunday afternoon will see the latest Messy Church, starting at 3.30pm and finishing with a meal at around 5.15pm. This year’s them will be ‘Journeys in the Bible’ with fun, games, activities and crafts. All young families are welcome to come along. There is no charge for attendance at this event. People should register on the church website to assist with catering arrangemen­ts. If the weather is good the planned barbecue will be held outside. The Congregati­onal Board meet on Thursday, June 23, with the Kirk Session joining in at 8pm to continue the local church review developmen­ts. Next Sunday, July 3, the morning service will be followed by the annual American brunch. All proceeds this year will go towards helping with the costs of creating a small sensory or memorial garden in the church grounds. Throughout the summer months a Sunday holiday club will be held each week at 11am with fun, snacks and activities for youngsters. Each week one of the miracles of Jesus will feature within the session. All young ones are welcome. Plans are also being made for a fun-filled summer holiday club on July 11-13. More details will follow shortly. Courses North Lanarkshir­e Council’s Wishaw and Shotts lifelong learning team have a range of free learning programmes for adults, with short employabil­ity courses on CV preparatio­n, preparing for job interviews and job searches. These courses will be held in Newmains Computer Suite in School Road on Mondays at 9.30am to 11.30am. Personal developmen­t course will start in Pather Community Centre, Caledonian Road, Wishaw, on Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm. Digital inclusion course will start in Cleland Library on Mondays, 2pm to 4pm. English support classes, adult literacy and numeracy support classes and SQA-certificat­ed introducti­on to computer courses will be held in Newmains, Pather, Shotts and Harthill, as will a Discovery award for the over-50s.
