Murray-mania Fingers crossed Win it Do us proud

Tennis fever is set to grip the nation over the next fortnight as Andy Murray bids to win the Wimbledon title for the second time.

With former coach Ivan Lendl returning to the Murray camp in the run- up to the championships, hopes are high that the Dunblane star can dethrone reigning champion and world number one Novak Djokovic.

We took to the streets of Wishaw to find out if the public believe Murray is good enough to win another Grand Slam.

Leanne Robertson, and three-year-old son Leyton, are 100 per cent behind him. Leanne said: “I’ll be backing Andy all the way. “Now that he has Lendl back with him he will be in with a great chance of winning.”

Carole Curley, and grandson Anthony, agreed saying: “He definitely has got the game to win it and hopefully he does.”

Karen Boyle revealed her sons Lewis and Oliver will be watching plenty of tennis over the next fortnight.

“Oliver is Andy Murray daft and watches a lot of matches,” said Karen.

“We will be watching so fingers crossed he can do but it will be tough especially if he plays Djokovic.”

Finally, Lynsey Lennox and daughter Faith, 3, is keeping her fingers crossed that Britain’s Davis Cup winner can win his third Grand Slam.

She added: “Hopefully Andy can do it; we will definitely be supporting him and I’m sure he will do us proud.”
