Ten people left needing hospital treatment

A 13- year- old Netherton boy was amongst the nine passengers on board when the Tsunami rollercoas­ter derailed on Sunday.

We detail the extent of the injuries as children as young as 11 remain in hospital.

Four youngsters were sent to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow including:

A 12- year- old boy in a serious condition with chest, abdominal and leg injuries.

An 11-year-old boy in a serious condition receiving treatment for arm and hand injuries.

An 11-year-old boy in a stable condition receiving treatment for leg and head injuries and the 13-year-old Netherton youngster who was checked but deemed stable.

Four others were sent to Wishaw General Hospital including: a 14- year- old girl receiving treatment for serious chest injuries, a 16- year- old boy receiving treatment for an injury to his arm and an 11-year-old boy was kept for observatio­n and is stable.

A 19- year- old girl was treated for an injury to her wrist at Wishaw General Hospital and has since been released.

A 19- year- old man is being treated for a knee injury at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and is stable.

A 25-year-old female who was passing by the scene was also taken to Wishaw General Hospital for assessment but was released without any injuries. The woman was not struck by the carriage.

In addition, a 32-year-old Wishaw woman was treated at the scene and not taken to hospital.
