South Wishaw Parish Church Finance Group meets this Wednesday evening. Pantomime auditions are being held on Saturday at 2pm. Kingdom Kids resume on Sunday, meet in Hall at 10.50am. Sunday Worship at 11am is being conducted by Terry Moran. Pastoral visitors please pick up materials for District delivery after the Service on Sunday. Any notices for this week’s Order of Service should be passed to the Session Clerk by 11am on Thursday of this week. All sections of the Guide Group resume on Wednesday, August 24 at usual times. Advance notice is given of the Macmillan Nurses coffee morning to be held on Saturday, September 3, from 10.30am until 1pm. Rotary Club Last Thursday’s meeting of the rotary club of Motherwell and Wishaw saw four guests present. They were formally members of the Clyde Valley Rotary Club which was recently disbanded and it is hoped that they may consider joining their “Mother Club” which is Motherwell and Wishaw. Continuing with using club members as the summer speakers past president John McDonald addressed the club and his topic was the Auld Grey Town which turned out to be Kendal where John and his wife have a holiday home. John gave a brief history of Kendal showing pictures of various aspects of the town. He finished by providing his audience with pieces of Kendal cake. David McLeod gave an update of last weeks pigeon race from Otterburn. The winning birds belonged to Des Donnelly, Charles Keeper and Willie Talbot. The winner of the weekly bonus ball was President James Gibbons. Houldswort­h Bowling Club There will be dancing to Kickstand plus Bingo and Treasure Chest on Saturday. All welcome. Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church The final reflection from the short series of looks at sections of the Book of Revelation will be the focus of the sermon at the church on Sunday. For those who cannot attend there is an opportunit­y to join in via the live stream on the internet at (dalzielsta­ndrews.org.uk) or catch up later on You Tube. A dedicated stream and You Tube channel is also available for all who are deaf or hard of hearing with both a signer and an electronic note taker present within the sanctuary. All are welcome. Sunday will also mark the final summer Sunday school at 11am with all children welcome to share in the fun, games, activities and snacks and a story about one of the miracles of Jesus. The crèche will be available as usual. Next Sunday, August 21, there will be an all ages service marking the start of the autumn session for the Sunday school and the Fusion youth group. All children are welcome to come along. Wednesday, August 17, will see all sections of the Girls’ Brigade enrolling for their new session with a 6.30pm start time for each age group. Wishaw Ex-servicemen’s Club entertainm­ent for members and friends. Wednesday night the club is open. Friday and Sunday night cash bingo in the tartan lounge. Saturday night private function in the main hall, members and friends are welcome to use the tartan lounge. Monday night sees line dancing in the main hall. All welcome. Coming soon on Saturday, September 24 for your entertainm­ent, fabulous entertaine­r Kirk James. The main hall and upstairs lounge is available to book for most functions including weddings, christenin­gs, birthdays, anniversar­ies, funerals, charity nights and most other occasions. Wishaw art group commences its new session in Coltness Community Centre on Tuesday, August 30, at 7pm to 9pm, new members are welcome. The group has a tutor and members work in a variety of media, watercolou­r, pastels, acrylic and pencil. Anyone wishing to learn more about art should come along to a class.
