Demz is loving the LA lifestyle
A dancer is swapping small town living for the dizzy heights of LA to chase her dream of making it professional.
Demi Crawley, known by many as Demz, has jetted across the big pond for three months to dance with some of the industry’s best choreographers.
The 25-year-old from Carluke has already spent the first two weeks of her trip taking America by storm, catching the eye of some of the dancing world’s best professionals.
Demz has even been picked out to do a solo at a dance class by top choreographer Brooklyn Jai, who has recently choreographed for the likes of American Idol.
A video of her piece posted online went viral, accumulating over 10,000 views.
Demz has been dancing since she was four years old and has made it her mission to make a career out of something she loves.
She said:“I am a goal-setter and dreamer and want to show people that, even from a small town like Carluke, if you want something badly enough, it will happen.
“I have been here in LA for two weeks and my highlight so far is being picked out in Brooklyn Jai’s advanced street jazz funk class for a solo and him wanting to do a concept video with me! It is unbelievable.”
Demz said that she is so inspired by all the dancers out in LA and she is working hard day in and day out going to different classes and meeting different people.
She said:“My goal is to hopefully one day make it as a pro dancer and tour with amazing artistes. But just by being here living the life and the dream is my first step in the right direction to bigger and better things.”
The talented dancer travelled to New York and trained at Broadway Dance Centre which helped her perfect her craft in street jazz funk, hip hop and heels.
This pushed her to travel the world and she then decided that she wanted to head to Los Angeles to seek amazing opportunities.
Demz visited Los Angeles in April for two weeks and enjoyed it so much that she returned in July for three months.
The freestyler has been dancing since she was a little girl and has pushed herself to achieve her dreams.
