A brave Wishaw cancer patient who lost her young sister and mother to the disease is getting ready to strut her stuff on the catwalk to raise funds for charity.

Senga Macfarlane, of Bonkle, will be sharing the stage at the Breast Cancer Care Scotland event at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Glasgow with 21 other models all whom have had all had a cancer diagnosis.

Senga, 61, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2015. She said: “I know mum and sister will be looking down on me wishing me well.

“Taking part in the Breast Cancer Care fashion show this year is something to look forward to, and something I would never have the confidence to do before.

“I can’t wait to step out onto the catwalk in front of everyone including family and friends who have supported me every step of the way.”

Senga will be transformed from head to toe before hitting the runway wearing a range of beautiful outfits from House of Fraser.

The models will also have their hair expertly styled by Sassoon Salons and celebrity make up artist Sara Hill and her team will be adding the finishing touches.

The show, which takes place on September 22, raises vital funds to support the 4700 people diagnosed with breast cancer across Scotland each year.

Dawn Stanley, Events Project Manager at Breast Cancer Care Scotland, said: “We are so proud of all our brave models who are starring in the show this September.

“Taking to the catwalk is a oncein- a- lifetime opportunity for our models to enjoy some well deserved pampering and show that it is possible to look great, and feel confident after a diagnosis of breast cancer .”
