New homes plans in the community
NCT Centre showcases plans for development
Newmains residents will have the chance to cast their eye over a new residential development at the NCT Centre today.
Tom Property UK have lodged plans to create housing at the site running adjacent to the Main Street, opposite Cooper’s garage.
The original planning application was granted back in 2008 but time has lapsed on the proposal, meaning the plan has been put forward again.
Now residents will get the chance to see the proposals between 2pm-4pm today at the Newmains Community Trust Centre and get answers to their questions.
The proposals were discussed at last week’s Newmains Community Council meeting and member John Harper encourages everyone to go along to see the plans.
He said: “This will give a chance for everyone to see what is planned for the area because it is a large area.
“These plans have been in the pipeline for a long time and this is a pre-application after the last one ran out.
“People will be able to get answers to any concerns and questions over the new area and if there is the infrastructure for the area to deal with it.”
Tom Property lists the preapplication public event as a chance to see plans for a ‘ residential development with associated access roads, open space and surface water treatment areas’.
Those who can’t make it to the NCT Centre will still have a chance to voice their concerns by writing to EMA Architects – the group behind the proposals – EMA Architects, 42 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh EH2 4HQ or by emailing info@ emaarchitects.co.uk.
