Tough to take for captain Las

-

Motherwell captain Keith Lasley was gutted after Saturday’s defeat but believes it will make the Steelmen stronger when they take on Dundee.

Well were left hurting after Kenny Miller’s late winner but Lasley knows the team will come away a better side after Saturday’s bitter disappointment. He said: “It’s a very sore one to take. “We were coming off the back of a couple of disappointing results so were determined to give a better account of ourselves than in the past couple of weeks.

“I think we did that and to lose the game after a much better performance just makes it all the more galling.

“The ultimate aim in football is to turn performances into wins but against Dundee next week we’ll be starting in a much better frame of mind than in the last seven days as we let ourselves down. As hard as it is now, I’m sure we’ve got enough to work with and we’re looking forward to next week already.”

Lasley believes boss Mark McGhee’s gameplan was spot on and insists it will be the only way to get a result against Rangers.

He said:“I think most people who come here will find that Rangers will dominate most of the possession.

“It’s up to us to deal with that and play our game when we land on the ball but I think we played to our strengths.

“I thought we did that at times even when we got pegged back to 1-1.

“We still had chances – Scotty and Marvin made the keeper produce some excellent saves.

“The Rangers keeper had to make a couple of really good saves to keep them in the match.”
