-

Berryhill Primary school pupils and their families joined the crowds for this years Lets’s Eat festival in Glasgow.

The excited group tasted several fabulous dishes prepared by some of the most talented chefs from the best restaurants in Glasgow.

The pupils lapped up all sorts of home grown, locally sourced and freshly prepared grub at the second not- for - profit food festival.

Berryhill were offered free vouchers and a bus by sponsors to take them there and back again.

They were rewarded because of the excellent work they do within the school and the community.

The school grow their own fruit and vegetables in the school allotment and share the produce with the local community.

Principal Teacher Marina Mathieson said:“Let’s Eat Glasgow once again defied all expectations with a programme of cooking demonstrations, watched buy our children and their parents.“The culinary delights were fantastic and the children loved spending time with the Highland cows, piglets and the chickens.

“There were many fabulous stalls too and a local beekeeper from Wishaw went down a storm with an interactive bee hive for folk to sample the honey while the bees worked alongside them.

“Organisers Real Food, Real Folk were delighted with the thousands of visitors who came to enjoy the food and the day. Berryhill do feel they have a new friend to add to their list of Friends of Berryhill.

“The feedback from the families was full of enthusiasm and about how they are looking forward to the next one.”
