Bowman believes Well can be unbeatable after Accies win

Ryan Bowman made his home debut on Saturday

Motherwell’s Ryan Bowman insists the Steelmen can beat anyone if they replicate Saturday’s performance.

The striker – who signed minutes before the transfer window closed – enjoyed his first Fir Park outing and praised four-goal hero Louis Moult.

The Englishman was part of a front three with goalscorer Moult and Scott McDonald.

He believes the combination can be a real winner for Mark McGhee’s men this year.

He said:“If we play like that every week, especially at home, then we can beat anyone – Celtic, Rangers, whoever.

“If we play like that we won’t be afraid of anyone. Anything is possible.

“Today everyone saw how good Louis is.

“I haven’t seen much of him up here but I played against him a few times in the Conference and I never saw anything like that.

“You can see his quality and he’s brilliant to play with. Louis and I have been working on our partnership throughout the week and it clicked pretty much straightaway.

“Hamilton didn’t really know what to do.

“The three of us played off each other very well. We ran off defenders and held up play to bring other players in. It showed that it worked.”

The only downside for Bowman in an otherwise stellar Saturday afternoon was when he was taken off and a penalty kick he was awarded.

However, the 24-year-old was delighted for his strike partner.

He said:“You win the penalty so you want to take it but Moulty, to be fair to him, was going to give me it until the manager shouted that he was to take it as he’s on penalties.

“It’s only fair. If it was the other way around and it was me who was on penalties I’d expect to take it.

“The last two or three years I’ve been used to taking penalties whether I won them or not.

“He put it away and we won the game. That was the main thing.”
