MLOne all set to usher in diners at college site
New College Lanarkshire’s highlyregarded training restaurant MLOne is ready to re-open its doors to the public.
It will open for business on Thursday, September 29, serving a selection of mouth-watering choices to students, staff and visitors.
The gourmet training restaurant, located on the ground floor of the Motherwell Campus, will be open weekday lunchtimes from noon.
The menu for the first week includes aromatic buttermilk fried chicken with vegetable rice pilaf (£2.50), grilled fillet of sea bream (£2.95), caramel pecan cheesecake with berries (£1.75), and vanilla pannacotta (£1.95).
The eaterie gives Hospitality and Professional Cookery students practical experience of the demands of preparing and serving food in a professional restaurant environment and teaches them the skills required to succeed in the food industry.
The menus are changed regularly to complement the availability of local and seasonal produce.
MLOne will also play host to a series of themed events hosted by HND Hospitality Management and HND Professional Cookery students, details of which will be announced on the College’s website.
Curriculum and Quality Leader Tony Mott said: “We are always looking forward to both new and progressing groups of students showcasing their talents in the kitchen and front of house.
“It’s a fantastic learning environment.”
