Penalty call halts Wishaw in the cup

He said: “At the time we didn’t think it was a penalty and Largs video all of their games and put highlights up later.
“So when we watched it back it clarified our thoughts about it.
“It was disappointing but we don’t want to let it impact on us too much because we’ve played some really good stuff.
“We were the better side throughout the game and we more than matched them which is pleasing because they’re not in the Super League Premier for nothing.
“Right now we maybe just need the rub of the green but the most important thing is that the performance was there and I’ve always said if you play to a high level consistently the results will come.”
Wishaw could also feel aggrieved after a James Coffey goal was ruled out for offside but the Beltane Park gaffer wants to focus on writing the wrongs of two defeats in a row.
After a last minute goal for Thorniewood last weekend consigned Wishaw to league defeat, McGroarty is keen to avoid a third loss in a row.
He said: “We’ve lost two games in a row but I feel that we’ve played well in both of them and don’t deserve to come away empty handed.
“We seem to be doing everything right and not getting that little bit of luck.
“Hopefully things can turn around starting on Saturday and we’re looking forward to it.
“The confidence is high amongst the boys because we know we’ve done everything right barring the result in the past two games.
“It would be a concern if we weren’t playing well and getting beat but we’re still performing to a high level and hopefully that continues this Saturday against Dundee North End.”
A bus is being run by Wishaw Juniors for the Junior Scottish Cup clash against Dundee North End on Saturday.
