Panto dancer is kept on her toes
Claudia loves appearing in Elfie’s Magical Adventure
A talented Wishaw dancer has been chosen to tread the boards in the Glasgow Pavilion Theatre’s 2016 pantomime - Elfie’s Magical Adventure.
Claudia Nicole Russell has been dancing since she was a toddler and said she has been working towards this role for a long time.
The 22-year-old, of Bluebell Wynd, said: “Performing at the PavilionTheatre is an amazing opportunity. It’s the biggest production I’ve been involved in. “I’m absolutely loving it.” Claudia, who attended the UK Theatre School since she was a child, plays Tatiana the Dancing Turkey in this year’s panto.
She added: “My family came along on to the opening night and really enjoyed it. Seeing them in the audience spurred me on to do well. “They are very supportive. “I’m performing in two shows per day for six weeks. I know it’s going to be tough but I’m ready for the challenge.
“It’s what I love doing and I’ve been working for.”
This year’s panto - Elfie’s Magical Adventure is a hilarious fun filled family adventure full of slapstick fun and sing-along Christmas songs, promising to be the funniest show in town.
As well as being excited about performing 20 nights at the Pavilion Theatre in front of packed out crowds, Claudia is also delighted to be sharing the stage with River City’s Stephen Purdon, wrestler Grado, panto favourites Liam Dolan and Craig Glover, Rab C Nesbit star Nicola Park, and Clyde 1’s Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey.
