Wishaw man Les Hoey’s annual Christmas party for sick kids was once again a massive success.

At Hamilton JP Court on Tuesday, Maxwell Meharey, a miner from Omoa Road in Cleland was in the dock for creating a disturbance and assaulting his brother in his home on Friday last.
He was fined £3 with the option of 20 days imprisonment.
On Monday night a man from Craigneuk was knocked down and run over in Townsend Street, Hamilton by a motor lorry so severely that he died.
Inquiries led to the identification of the man as Andrew Dumouis, an unmarried Pole. Police officers swooped on Fir Park in the early hours of yesterday morning and arrested two men who were attempting to break into the members’ room.
The men appeared in court following the incident.
Lanarkshire County Council has warned tenants about the danger of dumping household refuse on roadside verges and open spaces in housing schemes.
They say the tidying up of these areas involves expenditure which can only be recovered from a charge on the rates.
