It’s the time of year when the festivities have passed and everyone turns their attention to the year ahead.

For many people, January is the time of year to book their holidays and have something to look forward to.

We went out and about in Wishaw to ask our readers if they had any plans for the upcoming year and what their dream holiday would be.

Youngster Aimee Dyer, pictured with cousin Sophie McRae, received a dream Christmas Day present.

She said: “I found out at Christmas that I’m going to Walt Disney World this year and I can’t wait.

“It’s the best Christmas present that I could ever ask for.”

Husband and wife duo Robert and Dorothy McLintock revealed their plans for the upcoming year.

Dorothy said: “We like to go on bus tours up and down the country so hopefully we’ll be able to get away on a couple of them.”

Robert added: “We’ve not got anything booked yet but it’s always good to have something to look forward to.

“Our son is in the Armed Forces so you never want to be too far away for when he comes back.”

Ten-year-old Steven Deighan doesn’t have anything planned as of yet but told us what kind of holiday he’d like.

He said: “I’d quite like to go camping because I think it would be fun.”
