Report into death of T in the Park man with prosecutors
A report into the death of a Craigneuk man who was making his way home from T in the Park has been submitted to prosecutors.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) launched a probe after Jim Richardson was found dead by the A9 in Perthshire.
The dad-of-three was found in the Forteviot area on July 12 last year following the music festival at Strathallan Castle.
He had last been seen walking at the roadside at lunchtime the previous day.
The 29-year-old’s family had reported him missing when he failed to return home after the event.
The police watchdog has now confirmed it has submitted a report to prosecutors over the death of Mr Richardson.
This week, the PIRC confirmed it had concluded its investigation into Mr Richardson’s death and that Commissioner Kate Frame’s findings have been submitted to the Crown Office and procurator fiscal for consideration.
The investigation focused on the initial police response to a report of concern for the 29-year-old’s welfare.
The Wishaw Press contacted Mr Richardson’s widow Samantha for her reaction to the investigation.
However, she declined stating she did not wish to comment until the final report is published.
