Shotts and District Rotary Club will reconvene next Wednesday, January 18, after the festive break. EU Congregati­onal Church There will be an open church today (Wednesday, January 11) from 11am to 1pm when the minister will be present. Come along for quiet contemplat­ion and prayer. There is a manager’s meeting on Wednesday night at 7pm, with a fundraisin­g meeting on Thursday at 10.30am. The Ladies Fellowship meets on Fridays at 10.30am. The Sunday morning service is at 11.30am and singing group meets on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Bon Accord Club The club are taking new bookings, so get in touch if you’d like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events. For more informatio­n, contact the club on 01501 821542. Salvation Army Corps The friendship club meets on Tuesdays, from 1pm to 3pm, and the youth club meets on Wednesdays, from 6pm to 7pm followed by band practice. The toddlers group is on Thursday mornings, from 9.30am to 11.30am, with prayer meeting and bible study on Thursday evenings from 7pm. The Friday club meets on Fridays, from 5.45pm to 6.45pm and the JAM club is from 6.45pm to 7.45pm. The Sunday morning meeting is at 10.45am and will be led this week by Major Christine Bailey. Everyone is welcome to attend. 32 Social Club Entertainm­ent for members and friends is as follows: bingo is held in the lounge on Monday nights at 8.30pm. Lodge St John 471 The next regular meeting will be held in the Orange Hall this Friday, January 13, at 7.30pm. The business of the evening will be an EA degree conferred by the RWM and office bearers. Community council meets on the first Monday of the month in the Community Centre in Kirk Road at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. See Facebook at Shotts Community Council or can ask to be added to their emailing list to be kept up-todate. The next meeting will be held on February 6. Fundraisin­g group This is a group comprised of members of various groups throughout Shotts who are interested in sharing informatio­n and best practices on finding out about and applying for grants and funding. The meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month in the Station Hotel at 7.30pm. All are welcome. The next meeting will be held later this month. Slimming group Classes take place every Wednesday at 9.30am, 5pm and 7pm in Epic Studios, Shottskirk Road (above Ladbrokes at Dykehead Cross). Everyone going along will be made welcome.
