I will never forgive evil monster McDonald

Ex-partner’s world has been ripped apart

- Gary Fanning

The former partner of slain Kevin Holmes this week opened her heart to the Wishaw Press and told how the death of her first love has torn her world apart.

Nicola Smith was speaking for the first time publicly since killer George McD McDonald had his plea reduced to cu culpable homicide accepted by the C Crown.

In an exclusive interview with the Wishaw Press, she described McD McDonald as a cold- blooded mur murderer who she said should rot in jailja for the rest of his life.

N Nicola, 38, slammed the justice syste system and described the reduced char charge to culpable homicide as a “slap in the face” to Kevin’s family.

“Th “The outcome is disgusting and a kick in the teeth to the ones who are left b behind,” she added.

“H “He (McDonald) should see life beh behind bars.

“M “McDonald is a scumbag and a bull bully and he always has been.

“I“I hope he dies a long, slow, pain painful death after what he has done to K Kevin, his family and myself.

“H “He has left us with empty hearts and coping with Kevin’s murder.”

N Nicola along with her friend Trac Tracey attended the court case every day and she vowed to see justice don done for Kevin.

N Now she said that she will never forg forgive evil George McDonald who chill chillingly told her in court that he neve never killed Kevin.

Th The single mum, of Shand Street, adde added: “On the Monday of the case, McDonald looked at me and said these words to me “IT WASN’T ME” and shook his head.

“The things he did to Kevin were outrageous and it was cold-blooded murder.

“After lunch we went back in to court to hear his lawyer say my client wants to plead guilty to culpable homicide — that second, my heart was ripped apart.

“I burst out crying and had to walk out of the court room. I couldn’t take that.

“After him being up in front of judge and jury five times for previous assaults and other stuff, it’s totally wrong.

“I’m not happy with the outcome of this. “The justice system is wrong. “If it was up to me I would take it to a private hearing.

“I know it’s hard enough for everyone, but I don’t think this is justice to Kevin or his family.

“McDonald should never be allowed in society again. He is a ticking time bomb and low and behold it’s my poor ex-partner who has lost his life.”

Nicola says she believes the events told by Brian Watson, the man McDonald tried to blame for killing Kevin.

She added: “We have only heard Brian Watson’s version.

“But we, as a family, know Kevin was walking from one of his close friends and got caught up with that scum of the earth. “I believe every word of Brian. “McDonald drinks with people and bullies them. I believe he did what Brian said.

“Brian said they were drinking and Kevin walked up then went for a carry-out.

“George McDonald accused Kevin of stealing a bottle of wine then he jumped about his head, face and body and went back to Brian to have a drink out of his can then went back to kick poor Kevin and he did that three times.

“I know Kevin would have been saying what’s this all about (when confronted by McDonald).

“That’s what Kevin would have said as he wasn’t confrontational and was just full of fun.”

Nicola said Kevin and his killer knew each other, but he would have had nothing to do with McDonald.

“He knew McDonald was bad news,” she added.

“Kevin would never sit in his company.

“I know that for a fact.”
