Beltane Bowling Club will hold its annual general meeting in the clubhouse on Tuesday, February 28, at 7pm. The next monthly dance will be held on Saturday, March 4. All welcome. South Wishaw Parish Church All of the church’s Wednesday activities resume this week, Prayer group is at 10am with Life group at 11am and the mid-week service at 12 noon will be followed by lunch. Wednesday Welcome starts at 1.30pm and the group will welcome a profession­al female vocalist as entertainm­ent this week. Sharing Circle meets on Thursday afternoons at 1.30pm. Saturday cafeteria held between 10am and 1pm will see Team B on duty this week. Morning worship on Sunday at 11am will be conducted by Reverend Terry Moran. Kingdom Kids meet in the hall at 10.50am. The Now Church event held on Sunday afternoons starting at 2pm will include a pre service lunch at 1pm. The Guild will meet on Monday evening at 7.30pm. Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church Morning worship will take place in the church on Sunday at the usual time of 11am. The service will also be available live on the internet on the church website at dalzielsta­ndrews.org.uk with catch-up on You Tube accessible from noon. The service includes signing and electronic note taking, either at the church or on the internet, to assist those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The latest messy church event will take place on Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm with refreshmen­ts, activities, games and fun, all available for young families. No charge will be made for attendance. The event will finishes around 5pm with a meal for all. The men’s club on Monday evening will hear from PC Scott on bogus callers. The Guild on Tuesday evening will be joining in the pilgrimage experience when Alex Baird will deliver an illustrate­d talk on the church group’s experience­s during their visit to the Holy Land in 2015. The Sisterhood, on Wednesday afternoon, welcome back Helen Morrison with one of her many talks. The annual Pancakes-a-Plenty morning, in support of Christian Aid, will take place at Crosshill Parish Church on Tuesday, February 28, from 10am to 12 noon. The theme of this year’s World Day of Prayer will be “Am I being unfair to you”, which has been developed by a group from the Philippine­s. This year’s service will take place in Motherwell South Parish Church on Friday, March 3, beginning at 10.45am. Motherwell Photograph­ic Society Members viewed sections of the Alba Photograph­ic Society’s 2016 digital images exhibition at their meeting on Thursday evening of last week. The entries were drawn from throughout Scotland and were of a very high standard. Members learned a great deal from viewing some familiar images, taken from the perspectiv­e of other photograph­ers. Colin MacLatchie will be the judge for the club’s third and final digital image competitio­n on February 23. He has a large number of entries to assess and it should prove to be an informativ­e evening. A beginners’ night will be held on Friday, February 24, when the subject will be the use of Photoshop. The club will host Strathaven Camera Club in their annual “match an image” competitio­n on April 6. If they wish to take part in the event, members can hand in images, the more unusual the better, for inclusion in the competitio­n. It is always a very enjoyable, light-hearted and fun evening. Motherwell Photograph­ic Society meets every Thursday evening at 7.30pm in Holytown Community Centre, Stevenston Street, Holytown.
