Here’s Tae Us is a documentar­y showcase - a story of Shotts, past and present. It will be hosted in the Henderson Theatre at the Community Centre, Kirk Road, on Wednesday, March 22, 6.30pm for a 7.15pm start. Entry is free when buying a raffle or refreshmen­t ticket costing £2. Tickets, priced £5, can be reserved by contacting committee members. 3rd Shotts Scout group The new hall at 100 Benhar Road, Shotts was officially opened on January 4, which was the fourth anniversar­y of the previous hall being destroyed in an arson attack. The new hall was funded mainly by a Lottery grant, with the shortfall made up from Scout funds. The hall is now available for any organisati­ons in the community to use and requests should be made to Mrs Mary Lees (Group Scout leader) on 01501 821658. Beavers (ages five to eight years) meet on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8.15pm. Contact Margaret Galloway (Keeo) on 01501 823715. Cubs (ages eight to 10) meet on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm. Shotts and District Rotary Club Katie Moyes, catering and bar manager of the Station Hotel attended the club’s meeting on Wednesday of last week to receive a presentati­on for her services to the club over the past four years. She has been manager at the hotel since the restaurant, bar and Fortissat Suite were refurbishe­d. Katie has now decided to branch out on her own by purchasing the Commercial Inn in nearby Fauldhouse. Shotts Rotary Club would like to wish her all the best for the future. Meetings are held every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel. EU Congregati­onal Church There will be an open church today (Wednesday, February 22), from 11am to 1pm when the minister will be present. Come along and bring a friend for quiet contemplat­ion and prayer. There will also be a short service held from 11.30am to 12pm. The annual general meeting of the church is tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm. Ladies fellowship is on Friday at 10.30am. The service on Sunday morning is at 11.30am and the evening service is at 6.30pm. Singing group is on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps The friendship club meets on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm and the youth club meets on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm. The toddlers group meets on Thursday mornings from 9.30am to 11.30am. The Friday Club every Friday evening at 5.45pm, followed by the JAM Club at 6.45pm. There will be a coffee morning held this Saturday, February 25, from 10am to 12pm. The Sunday morning meeting this week at 10.45am will be led by Major Christine Bailey. Everyone is welcome. The
