Family business you can turn to
Family owned funeral directors, T&A Fyfe continue to move forward in the service they provide to Lanarkshire families.
On Friday, March 3 T&A Fyfe Funeral Directors, officially opened their newly renovated service rooms and rest rooms to the community.
The newly refurbished premises are the culmination of five months of extensive renovations.
Clergy from all denominations were invited to join the directors for the ‘Service of Dedication’ and were greatly impressed with the tranquil and muted surroundings.
Granddaughter of the founder, Lesley Blair, said: “Fyfe’s are proud and honoured to have spanned over 100 years in business and like the generations before, this Service Room is our step forward and a continuing commitment to the community we serve”.
Fyfe’s would especially like to thank all the families who came to them during this period of renovation for their understanding and patience.
Donald Blair said: “It is difficult in any business when renovations are scheduled but particularly difficult in our unique circumstance and we are extremely grateful to the sympathetic attitude shown by the trades involved, helping minimise any effect on the bereaved families throughout that time.”
Fyfe’s are happy to welcome any members of the public who may wish to visit their premises or share any history their family may share with the company over the last century.
Funeral Director Bert Hepburn said: “It is very interesting when families bring in photographs or documents from the past relating to Fyfe’s and the Peacock Cross area.
“Many are displayed throughout our reception area and are often commented upon.”
