Recently the Higher computing science students visited Edge Testing at their offices in Strathclyde Business Park in Bellshill.

Edge Testing are a company who provides a variety of different software testing services to corporate and private clients, including Flybe, Heineken, HM Government G-Cloud, Big Lottery Fund and many others. The students experienced first hand the various different testing techniques and how software needs to be fully tested before public release.

The pupils were joined by Edge Testing’s CEO, Mr Brian Ferrie, during their visit.

Mr Ferrie was recently awarded CEO of the Year at Scotland’s Digital Technology Awards. Thanks to Mr David Lewis (principal teacher of BCT) who organised the trip. TAYLOR UNDER 14s

Uddingston Grammar 2 – 2 Taylor High ( Uddingston Grammar 4- 3 winners on penalties)

Travelling a short distance from home, an enthusiastic Taylor squad took to the grass park on a sunny Wednesday evening in the second round of the Lanarkshire Cup.

Tom Townsley opened the scoring with a dipping strike from 25 yards – an awkward bounce saw it past the goalkeeper. 1 – 0 before the lead was doubled on half time thanks to a majestic lob from Kyle Lafferty. However, two late goals, including a penalty after Declan McLaughlin was penalised for pulling in the box meant it went to penalties which Uddingston won 4-3. LENTEN CAMPAIGN

Lent is a special time with many pupils and staff observing the three facets of this time: prayer, fasting ( giving up things) and alms giving (giving to others).

The school aim to do all three. The Lenten campaign saw the launch of a new banner which hangs near the main school entrance. The campaign is #NoGreaterLove and the school is tweeting at @TaylorHS1982.
