A dealer has been sentenced to 12 months behind bars after being caught supplying thousands of pounds worth of cocaine from his home.

Daniel Miller appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last Friday . He pleaded guilty to supplying £8,900 worth of Class A drugs from his house in Quarry Street, Shotts last summer.

The 26-year-old was only caught after police received information that Miller was dealing from his home.

The court heard that after officers had received the intelligence and then got the go ahead to raid Miller’s home, which he shared with his partner. A search warrant was obtained.

At around 3pm on June 11 last year police began their search.

Officers found numerous bags of cocaine, various weights, several so-called‘tic-lists’ with names written on them and a set of scales with traces of cocaine.

Miller was detained by police and taken to Motherwell Police Office where was interviewed.

During the course of the interview, Miller made admissions to weighing the cocaine and supplying it to a small number of people.

Several bags, containing cocaine, were recovered from Miller’s home by police.

Fiscal depute Callum Forsyth confirmed the total amount recovered was 222.6 grams. The drugs had an estimated street value of £8,900.
