Allanton

Allanton Parish Church service, Discovery club and creche will be held in the church on Sunday at 12.30pm. Mother and toddlers group meets in the church hall on Tuesday mornings at 9.30am and the Women’s Guild meets in the annex at 2pm. New members welcome. Karate class is held in the church hall on Wednesdays at 6.30pm. Street dance class is held in the church hall on Thursdays at 6pm to 7pm and 7pm to 8pm. Youth group meets in the senior citizens centre on Friday nights at 7pm to 9pm. Miners’ Social Club Entertainment for members and friends begins with a Scottish ceilidh dance class on Wednesday. A double session of bingo, play your cards right and a raffle is on Thursday, and country night with Pacifico, bingo, play your cards right and a raffle on Saturday. There will be dancing to Bill McFarlane, bingo, play your cards right, raffle and tote double on Sunday. The club is available to book for private functions.

Harthill

Eastfield and Harthill Flute Orchestra Billy Hilditch, the conductor of Eastfield and Harthill Flute Orchestra is retiring after 28 years service. His last event will be the spring contest in Troon on Saturday, May 13. The orchestra are looking for ex-players to come and play with them and give him a good show. They have players coming from as far afield as Prague, London and Belfast. If you would like to join up or come to a party organised for him, please get in touch with Bryan Allan on 07791603005. Harthill, Benhar and District Horticultural Society The annual general meeting of the Society will be held in Harthill Community Centre on Tuesday, March 21, at 7pm. Open to all.
