Afternoon tea will be held in Netherton Methodist Church on Saturday, from 2pm to 4pm; cost £3. Netherton Senior Citizens group bingo night is in Netherton community centre on Thursdays, March 16 and March 23. Admission £1 for adults; 50p for kids (includes pie and peas). Doors open at 6.30pm, for eyes down 7.30pm.

Bonkle

Bonkle Parish Church service, Sunday school and creche is on Sunday at 12 noon. Check with the church diary before arranging any new functions or events. Charity shop is open at Manse Road, Newmains Monday to Thursday, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Ark group meets in Coltness Memorial Church on Tuesdays between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Food bank thank everyone for their continued support and is open on Wednesdays at 1pm. Computer Club is held in Bonkle hall on Mondays at 10am to 11.30am, 1pm to 2.30pm and 2.30pm until 4pm. Come along and join in the badminton session at 7.30pm. All welcome. Arts class starts back in the big hall in Bonkle on Tuesday, March 21, at 7pm. Men’s and ladies club meet in the church hall on Wednesdays at 7pm. Thursday club meets in the church hall on Thursday afternoons at 2pm. Coltness Choir meets in Coltness Memorial Church on Thursdays at 8pm. Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet in Bonkle hall on Fridays at the usual times. Quiz night Thanks to all who came along to make the recent quiz night such a great success and congratula­tions to the winning team. Cracking the Easter Code is an event for P7 pupils looking at the Easter story with Bonkle church holding the event on March 29. Newmains Community Trust are looking to appoint a new chairperso­n with experience in a voluntary organisati­on and board members with experience in human resources, facilities management, fundraisin­g and networking, management in the public, private or voluntary sectors.
