School leavers going places
Shotts MSP Alex Neil has welcomed figures which show school leavers across North Lanarkshire are going on to positive destinations in greater numbers than previously.
Statistics released by the Scottish Government highlight 92.3 per cent of leavers are going into employment, higher education or training after finishing at secondary school for the year 2015-16.
It is a 4.7 per cent increase since 2011-12 and the Airdrie and Shotts MSP was delighted.
He said:“The Scottish Government is committed to continually improving standards in our schools and ensuring young people have opportunities to go on to work, education or training and make the best start in adult life.”
