Here’s Tae Us is a documentar­y showcase, a story of Shotts, past and present. It will be held in the Henderson Theatre at the Community Centre, Kirk Road, tonight (Wednesday, March 22) at 6.30pm for 7.15pm start. Tickets, priced £3 each, are available by contacting any committee member. 3rd Shotts Scout group The new hall at 100 Benhar Road, Shotts, is now available for any organisati­on in the community to use and requests to do so should be made to Mrs Mary Lees (Group Scout leader) on 01501 821658. Shotts and District Rotary Club There will be no Rotary meeting in the Station Hotel on Wednesday, April 5. Instead, the club will visit Glenkinchi­e Distillery near Edinburgh, followed by a meal in the Melville Inn in Lasswade, Midlothian. Transport will leave the Station Hotel at 12.45pm on that day. The guest speaker at the meeting on Wednesday of last week was Reverend Jonathan Abernethy-Barkley, from Shotts Congregati­onal Church, who is also the chaplain of Stane Primary School. Rev Jonathan originally came from Belfast via Dublin to Shotts 18 months ago. He studied medieval philosophy at Union College Queen’s University, Belfast and became a Presbyteri­an minister. He gave the rotary an interestin­g and humorous account of his life from event manager and political speech writer to the ministry. On his journey in life he had to reconcile the death of his lawyer father, who was shot in 1988 during the troubles, with the Gospel’s challenge to love your enemy and he urged club members to think about what matters most in life. EU Congregati­onal Church A midweek open church will be held in the church on Wednesdays, from 11am until 1pm when the minister will be present. A short service will take place from 11.30am to 12 noon. Come along and bring a friend. Ladies fellowship meets on Fridays at 10.30am. The service on Sunday morning is at 11.30am and the evening service is at 6.30pm with singing group on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps The friendship club meets on Tuesdays, from 1pm to 3pm. The youth club is on Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm, followed by band practice. There will be no toddlers group this week. The Friday club meets at 5.45pm,
