Camera Club The meeting of Carluke Camera Club on Friday of last week featured the judging of the club’s monochrome (black and white) print competition, by Robert Fulton MFIAP, MPAGB, a leading member of Paisley Colour Camera Club. Robert is also an executive committee member of the Scottish Photographic Federation and is widely regarded for his landscape photography, which he has exhibited internationally. In judging the Carluke competition he explained that, although most modern photographs are taken in colour, black and white images, taken in the right conditions and carefully processed, can have an equally strong impact. He was most impressed by the overall quality of the competition entries and discussed the strengths and possible areas for improvement for each individual entry. The overall winners in league one were: Winter Pasture by Hunter Kennedy and, in league two, Storm surge by John Barrington. Other outstanding entries were submitted by Gaille Gray, David Thompson and Susan Pinkus.
