Wheelers are flying

Law Wheelers have been racking up the miles with more club runs and competitions.

Iain Brownlie and Graham Smith managed to race to a top ten finish against a class field at the recent Ayrshire Icebreaker two up time trial.

Elsewhere, David Stark started the Audax season with the Fife 100 and along with five other clubmates completed the gruelling Tour of East Lothian Audax.

Audax are an internationally recognised long distance cycling association which host events throughout the UK.

The events are similar to the popular sportive events but are more reasonably priced and some have been going for up to 80 years.

Local bike fans are in for a treat once again this year when Britain’s top riders compete in the televised tour series on closed roads in Motherwell Town Centre as part of the UK tour.

The event is on May 23 and highlights will be broadcast on ITV4 the following day with residents encouraged to come out and support the event.

Law Wheelers Club runs leave Newmains Cross every Sunday at 10am and new members are always welcome regardless of experience.
