The creators of Scotland’s favourite sitcom Still Game revealed last week the show will be returning for an eighth series.
Filming of Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill’s comedy classic will commence later this year with the show rightly being held up as an all time comedy classic.
We took to the streets of Wishaw to find what our readers’ favourite sitcom.
And a quick sample of locals found many were split between American shows such as Friends and Frasier and homegrown classics like Only Fools and Horses or Blackadder.
Steph McConville said: “I prefer American shows like Friends or The Big Bang Theory.
“Both are brilliant shows but I think Friends is my favourite.
“My favourite Friends character is Chandler because he is so sarcastic.”
Elizabeth McEwan preferred British-based shows.
She added: “I like a lot of different ones but for me Still Game is up there with the best. “I think it’s brilliant.” Friends Megan Cruickshank and Amy Smith were also split on which was their favourite show.
“I liked Father Ted when it was on,” said Megan. “That was really good.” Amy added: “I really like The Big Bang Theory. “I would say that’s my favourite at the moment.”
