Police looking for feedback

-

Police officers in Craigneuk are looking for feedback from residents on how they can improve safety in the area.

Sergeant William Gray has asked Craigneuk Community Council members and residents to get involved with police Scotland’s latest strategy.

The initiative comes on the back of Police Scotland’s ‘sustained excellence in service and protection’ strategy which is looking to keep communities better informed.

Sergeant Gray said:“The most important thing from our point of view is that we get feedback from communities and community councils like Craigneuk.

“We work closely with these groups to ensure that we focus on the following areas: protection, prevention, communities, knowledge, innovation.

“There are several areas we can look at and discuss with residents to improve their safety and wellbeing.”

At this month’s Craigneuk Community Council meeting, the police were praised for their increased attention to the area.

Chair Margaret Carlin said:“You see police officers walking out and about in Craigneuk more now than you ever did before and I think it’s making a difference.

“When people know the police are about it is a good thing and hopefully it can continue.”
