Garner set to stand trail at end of June

A Wishaw man has denied behaving in a threatening manner towards his former partner.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court, David Garner, of Leighton Street, pleaded not guilty to shouting and swearing at Claire Burnett in Motherwell’s Muir Street on March 22.

It is alleged 28-year-old Garner committed the offence while he was on bail.

Garner also denied breaching the terms of his bail by contacting Ms Burnett. Garner was granted bail and will return to court on June 1 for a further hearing in the case.

He is expected to stand trial on June 27.
