Potato peeler man is set to stand trial

A man is expected to stand trial accused of carrying a potato peeler in a Motherwell tower block.

William White pleaded not guilty to carrying the peeler, which is classed as an offensive weapon, at Glen Tower on February 1.

White, 33, also denied behaving in a threatening manner by shouting and swearing at the tower block on the same date.

White, of Netherwood Tower, Motherwell, is due to return to Hamilton Sheriff Court on May 2 to stand trial.
