Sex act pic in revenge

Stalker’s photo to lover’s ex

- Court reporter

A stalker admitted sharing an intimate picture of her and her ex- boyfriend engaging in a sex act in a revenge bid for him dumping her.

Kathleen McConnell, 41, sent an image showing her and the man in an intimate moment to one of his old girlfriends with a caption that read: ‘I hope I tasted good.’

McConnell, of Wishaw, used the messaging service WhatsApp to send the picture during a month long campaign of hate.

The couple started dating in November but the relationship ended in January due to McConnell’s alleged controlling and possessive behaviour.

She began bombarding him with texts and phone calls and claimed she was going to make complaints about his ex-girlfriends to their places of work.

In February, McConnell sent a message telling one woman to stay away from him before making malicious claims to her employer alleging the nursery teacher had been drunk at work.

She then received further texts that made reference to her drinking alcohol and being reported to education bosses.

However police were called in when she received a WhatsApp message showing the man and an unidentifiable woman engaged in a sex act with the caption ‘I hope I tasted good’.

She contacted her ex who identified the woman in the photo as McConnell and contacted the police.

Mc C o n n e l l has appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted breaching stalking laws between January and February this year.

Depute fiscal Fiona Kirkby said: “Initially there was no issue however the complainer became concerned she was becoming controlling and that she had trust issues in relation to his previous partners and decided to end the relationship.

“Since that separation the accused has sent numerous text messages and made numerous phone calls to him stating that she would make complaints about his previous partners to their work.

“She sent messages through a variety of social media sites and due to this he made attempts to block the accused but was unsuccessful in stopping her.”

Miss Kirkby told how McConnell stepped up her harassment before sending the image of her and the man in bed together to his previous girlfriend.

She added: “On viewing the image she identified it to be the complainer performing a sexual act on an unknown female.

“She was extremely distressed and contacted him to show him what she had received and he asked her to forward it on.

“When he viewed the image he was alarmed and embarrassed that the image had been sent .

“But he was able to identify the woman as the accused.”

Sheriff Andrew McIntyre said: “I view this to be a serious matter to make these threats to these people.

“You have a limited criminal record and I will call for background reports but all options are open to the court.”

Prosecutors have asked for a non- harassment order barring her from contacting her victims.

Douglas Barr, defending, said: “There is no objection to a non-harassment order but the background of this case has to be looked at further.”

McConnell’s not guilty plea to secretly recording her ex performing a sexual act on her was accepted by prosecutors.
