Intruder nicks car from couple
A terrified couple were awoken in their home by a man shining a light in their face who then made off in their car.
Detectives have stepped up their hunt for the intruder following the house breakin on Tuesday, April 18, at 3.45am.
The couple refused to hand over their car keys when confronted by him.
The suspect ran off and managed to steal one of the cars, a grey Volkswagen Golf.
Police were appealing for witnesses to come forward to the incident in Carluke’s General Roy Way.
Constable Craig Jeffrey, f rom the Lanarkshire Community Investigation Unit, said: “A number of items were also stolen from the property and have since been found in different locations within the Carluke area.
“A woman returned the householder’s wallet after finding it and we would like to speak to this woman to establish more information about where it was found.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in General Roy Way, or the surrounding area, in the early hours on Tuesday morning to come forward.”
