Man, 22, is held in town incident

A man from Newmains was arrested for a string offences after an incident on Sunday afternoon in Wishaw town centre.

The 22- year- old was charged with an alleged breach of bail, breach of the peace, culpable and reckless conduct and police assault.

The incident occured at 5pm on Sunday in Stewarton Street before the trouble continued at Wishaw General Hospital and Motherwell Police Office.

The officers did not require any medical attention.

The man was expected to appear at court this week.
