Road safety highlighted
An audience of members of the Young at Heart group at Kings Church in Motherwell enjoyed a performance designed to highlight the issues of road safety for all ages.
North Lanarkshire Council’s Safe and Sustainable Travel Team organised the event which featured the Baldy Bane Theatre Company’s play Better Late Than Dead on Time.
The play is designed for all generations and covers issues such as hazards to drivers and pedestrians, young drivers, reaction times of older drivers, parents parking too close to school gates and inappropriate speed.
Highlighting the impact of reckless behaviour by drivers on one family as they travel to school and work, the play prompts a question and answer session at the end.
The play is part of the council’s work to raise awareness of road safety among all age groups.
