Dalziel finish in ninth place

Dalziel Rugby Club ended their season ninth in the BT National League 3 table following a heavy defeat against Highland at Canal Park in Inverness on Saturday.

Despite defeat in the BT National League Three, Dalziel will remain in the division after finishing one place above the relegation zone.

An Alan Bowles try gave Dalziel an early lead, converted by Andrew Glover, but Highland pulled a try back through Calum Macpherson.

After Bowles was sin-binned, the hosts scored a pushover try through Stuart MacDonald, with Scott Fraser’s conversion taking them into a 12-7 lead.

Highland ran riot in the second half, with scorers including Rory Cross, Murdo Paterson and Ewan Sime.

Ryan Burrell scored an unconverted try for Dalziel.
