With the latest series of Line of Duty wrapped up on the BBC and huge ratings for ITV’s Broadchurch, British TV crime dramas are definitely booming.

We took to the streets of Wishaw to find out what our readers’ favourite crime shows are and what they enjoy watching on the box.

Jackie Muir, from Wishaw, said: “I really enjoyed Line of Duty. I thought it was a great series. “I love a whodunnit.” “I would say British shows are definitely getting better although I do like American programmes like CSI.”

Meanwhile, Mary Connor stayed a little closer to home with her favourite.

She said: “I still think Taggart was one of the best police shows although I did like Line of Duty.”

We also caught up with Claire Taylor and her 12-year-old son Kerr.

Claire said: “I think British crime dramas are definitely the best because I think they are more realistic and you can relate to them.

“I used to always watch The Bill when it was on but I think Broadchurch was absolutely fantastic.

“I’ve started watching Line of Duty but haven’t caught up with the latest series although I heard it was great.”

Kerr added: “I like watching NCIS when it is on.”
