Support winning record

-

SNP MP candidate for Airdrie and Shotts Neil Gray“kicked off”his campaign outside Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium last Wednesday and asked for voters to back his winning record.

Dozens of local members and supporters held a rally outside Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium before a mass leaflet and door knocking session.

Mr Gray said:“I have been overwhelmed with the support I have received from people willing me to win again since the snap general election was called and that was the case for my campaign launch. I am standing for re-election on my record of hard work locally and in Parliament, but also as I am determined to continue the SNP’s work as the only effective opposition to this right wing Tory Government.”

Mr Gray has promised to fight the Tory betrayal of the UK’s pensioners if re-elected in June.

During his time as MP for the local area Mr Gray joined forces with Westminster colleagues Mhairi Black and Ian Blackford to highlight the Women Against State Pension Injustice (WASPI) campaign against the unfair change to the State Pension age.

Mr Gray added:“If people want to see a safe, secure future with a State Pension that supports everyone, then the only way to vote is SNP as we have pledged to stand up for the state pension.

“My colleagues and I proved time and again we were the only effective opposition to the Tories in Westminster. I am determined to keep on standing up for this community and for Scotland if re-elected.”
