Junior Choir

Dalziel High School’s junior choir recently performed at the Easter Egg company’s 70th anniversary show , Celebrate Good Times.

The choir, accompanied by a live pupil band and under the direction of principal teacher of music Chris Bensalem and Music Teacher Nicola McKenzie, performed for five nights to sell-out audiences at Motherwell’s Civic Centre theatre.

Their 15-minute slot at the end of the first act included songs from We Will Rock You, Matilda the Musical and Sister Act 2, and was received with rapturous applause by the audience each night.

The pupils involved performed to the highest standard and showcased the enormous talent which they have in Dalziel High School. The school said they are extremely proud of all involved.

The second round of matches for the Active Schools Rugby Sevens took place at Dunbeth Park, Coatbridge this week.

Sadly the attendance levels which had been good at the first round were much poorer with no S3 teams available and only two schools providing teams at S1.

This was a real disappointment but it did allow Dalziel’s squad to get another run out.

The two other sides represented the host school and a round robin series of games took place followed by a larger game. Dalziel recorded wins in all three games.
