New centre boss expected within weeks

-

The board of Newmains Community Trust have started the process of appointing a new NCT Centre manager.

The centre has been left without a permanent gaffer since coordinator Lynn Sirrell left her post in November.

Tempora r y cent re manager Nika Bartodziej departed last month, with another interim manager Margaret Lynch currently filling the role.

New NCT chair Christine McNally is hopeful of appointing a new person to take on the day- to- day running of the centre over the next few weeks.

At the recent Newmains Community Council meeting Christine, who took up her post as chair last month, said: “We are look at the NCT development plan and working with a consultant. Everything seems to be going well.

“It is going to take a few months before we put an action plan in place but what I have seen so far has been very good.

“We are placing advertisements for a new centre manager. This could take a few weeks but the process has started.

“We have to make sure we get the right person on board. After that we should be able to flourish.

“We want to make sure this place works for the people of Newmains.

“It has to work for everyone in the community.”

The NCT Centre thanked all the volunteers who have contributed to the centre’s success.

Volunteer you do not need any experience or formal qualifications but should be willing to learn. Induction training is provided.
