The hot new looks that are so cool

-

I always get a little buzz of excitement when there is a shift in make up trends – it’s great to get the chance to try fresh new looks.

Desperately waiting for change, I have been flicking through fashion magazines lately trying to figure out what the next great looks will be.

At the moment – and this is something I discussed last month – full-on make up is still the must-have look.

If you wear a full face of extreme make up all at once you’re pretty much bang on trend.

But as much as it can be applied beautifully, I don’t actually think it really enhances the looks of the wearer.

Particularly for young girls heading off to Prom, I think it swamps their lovely youthfulness and when they look back on their selfies in years to come I think they’ll agree that it was all too much.

So what are the next big looks, according to the beauty writers in the magazines who have their collective fingers on the fashion pulse? Natural skin This is great news! Kim Kardashian and Alesha Keys have ditched the heavy slap in favour of no, or barely there, foundation. I hate heavy foundation so I would be delighted to see this look phased out.

If you have good skin, a tinted moisturiser should be enough.

If you have blemished skin then only conceal the blemishes with a tiny brush and stick to a natural foundation on the rest. Colour pops Coloured brows to compliment or match coloured hair is a big thing.

The funky/punky look is great, so long as it isn’t teamed up with a full face of strobing, contouring, lips, lashes and liner.

Have a focal point and make it cool. Sparkling lips This isn’t actually a new look so it looks like it will be sticking around for a while.

I like bold statements like this but scale down the rest of your look. Slick hair From bouncy blow dries to slick side parted hair styles, paired with large statement earrings and bold lips.

It takes a while for the looks on the catwalk and fashion magazines to filter down to the rest of us and be spotted on the high street, , but they do catch on eventually and I can’t wait to hear some requests for new looks.
