School earns glowing report card
Delighted staff and pupils at a primary school were celebrating after receiving a positive report from inspectors.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate said the children at St Patrick’s Primary, New Stevenston, were friendly, polite and confident during their visit it March.
The acting headteacher led the school through the inspection following the headteacher’s absence.
Inspector Peter Gollogly said the kids are contributing well to the life of the school and staff teamwork in taking forward school priorities.
He added: “The recently introduced active learning approaches are improving children’s experiences.”
The following areas for improvement were agreed with the acting headteacher and representatives from North Lanarkshire Council after the visit.
Make better use of a range of data to raise attainment and reduce barriers to learning.
Further embed approaches to improving the school to ensure all children experience consistently high quality teaching and learning.
Cont i nue to improve communication with parents to ensure they have a better understanding of children’s learning and how it is assessed.
Mr Gollogly added: “We are confident that the school has the capacity to continue to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.”
A council spokesman said: “We are pleased with this positive inspection report and we will continue to work closely with the school to progress the areas highlighted by inspectors.”
