Denies assault and driving charges
A man has appeared in court accused of assaulting a woman in Wishaw and driving a motorbike while he was drunk.
James Bradford stood in the dock at Hamilton Sheriff Court and denied attacking Dorothy Boyd in a stairwell in Stewarton Terrace on May 24.
It is alleged that 36-year-old Bradford shouted and swore at Ms Boyd before seizing her by the body.
Bradford also denied driving the motorcycle along Stewarton Street whilst being over the legal drink-drive limit.
The final two charges Bradford pleaded not guilty to was driving the motorbike without a valid licence and without insurance.
Sheriff Gerard P MacMillan granted Bradford, of Eastfield Road, Carluke, bail but ordered him to return to court on September 7 for a further hearing in the case.
Bradford is due to stand trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court on October 3.
