Four on trial over string of offences

- Ross Thomson

Three women and a man will stand trial later this summer accused of a number of alleged crimes against them.

Kirsty Tobin, Leanne Campbell, Joanne Langford and Mark Bexley will stand trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court on August 8 in relation to the alleged offences.

All four deny all the charges against them which all took place on August 26 last year.

Tobin, of Stanhope Place, Wishaw, and Campbell, of Netherwood Tower, Motherwell, are accused of engaging in a fight in Wishaw’s Heathfield.

Tobin, 27, is also accused of assaulting Megan Cooper in the same street by seizing her by the neck and pinning her against a door.

Meanwhile, at the Nisa store in Smith Avenue, Wishaw, on August 26 23-year-old Campbell allegedly stole a number of food items.

At the same store, 29-year-old Langford, of Heathfield, Wishaw, allegedly assaulted Scott Smith by striking him on the body with her shoulder.

Campbell, Langford and 19-yearold Bexley, also of Stanhope Place, allegedly assaulted Mr Smith again by pursuing him, repeatedly punching him on the head and body, repeatedly striking him on the shoulder, attempting to kick him and repeatedly pushing him on the body.

The final charge is an allegation that Campbell and Langford behaved in a threatening manner in Smith Avenue by acting aggressively and shouting and swearing at Mr Smith.
