Not guilty plea to attacking his wife

A man has denied assaulting his wife at their Motherwell home earlier this month.

William Gebbie, of Salisbury Crescent, pleaded not guilty to seizing his wife Evelyn by the hair and dragging her at their house on June 19.

The 60-year-old also denied behaving in a threatening and abusive manner which was likely to cause fear or alarm by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, the case was adjourned for trial until August 25.
