Cadden

Bid kicked out by the Steelmen

-

Motherwell have kicked out a cheeky bid from Hearts for Scotland Under-21 star Chris Cadden.

An initial offer of around £ 100,000 from the Jambos was instantly rejected by the Fir Park club as they value the youngster at five times that fee.

Cadden has two years left on his contract and was one of their stand-out performers last season.

Hearts are resigned to losing winger Jamie Walker, having knocked back a bid from Rangers, and see the 20- year- old as a potential replacement.

But Motherwell chiefs are determined not to sell Cadden on the cheap and had no interest in negotiating with the Tynecastle club at that price.

The midfielder has been capped at under-21 level and has racked up more than 70 top-flight games.

Earlier this month, Motherwell COO Alan Burrows reiterated his stance on selling players.

He said: “If anyone wants any player who is contracted at Motherwell they’re going to have to come up with proper value.“
