Las has passion

-

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson believes new assistant Keith Lasley’s passion for the club will take the Steelmen forward.

The Well gaffer praised Lasley after he announced he was hanging up his boots to concentrate on a coaching role as Robinson’s right-hand man.

Robinson is hopeful a youthful and keen coaching staff will be the secret to the Steelmen’s success.

He said:“Keith comes with a massive history at Motherwell, he has been a brilliant servant to the club and has had some fantastic times.

“He’s a Pro Licenced coach, and what I see in Keith is his enthusiasm, desire and passion for this club, and I have no doubt that he’ll keep getting better and better.

“We have a young coaching staff with myself, Stephen Craigan and Keith, and the backroom staff as well.

“We really have a young, enthusiastic staff with good experience at good levels, that can take the club forward.”

Robinson also revealed that his signing spree has not halted just yet.

He added:“I’ve signed six players and if we end up with 10 then that will have been a big overhaul of the squad, but it was needed. We weren’t second-bottom and fighting relegation for no reason.”
